Craftsmanship

In many regions of Latin America people sleep in hammocks only.

The South American hammock classics of Harbourside are also manufactured according to tradition, for example using the typically Colombian “Cadejos” or the Brazilian “Veranda”. In Mexico we use an at least 200 years old technique called “Mallas“.

Arts and Crafts

Thoroughly creating all those little details is what makes our products stand out, making them truly unique. Everyone who lies down in a Harbourside hammock for the first time, letting his or her hands glide over the fabric with closed eyes, will feel that. Special processing provides the materials with their unique characteristics. While the fabric is usually finished on modern looms, the suspension parts and ropes are handcrafted in many steps.

Weaving technique

When finishing our products we place special emphasis on the fabric for the lying surface between the two suspension points. Due to special weaving techniques, the fabric is exceptionally soft but at the same time strong enough to stand extended, heavy-duty usage.

Finishing

Thoroughly creating all those little details is what makes our products stand out, making them truly unique. Everyone who lies down in a Harbourside hammock for the first time, letting his or her hands glide over the fabric with closed eyes, will feel that. Even the packaging of Harbourside products is far from ordinary: We roll them into so-called Rollitos, which not only saves space but is also good for the environment as this way, we can do without packaging material.
